First eggs are a bit like newborns.
Everyone looks forward to their arrival.
There is a day circled on the calendar, but they could come early or be a bit late.
There can be problems with their arrival, and some hens experience complications.
When they first make their appearance into the world they are small.
They can't do much for themselves.
They can't be added to a recipe because they are not the correct volume.
When you gather them you feel the need to be extra gentle with them.
They grow quickly in the following weeks.
Before you know it the eggs have become full-size and are indistinguishable from the other eggs in the nest.
