Nutella Puppy Chow (Snack Mix)

SugarBear and my Darling were off to do a little recon for an upcoming hunting excursion the other day when SugarBear asked what they could take for a snack.  He had been asking me to make something chocolate-ly for a few days (we all know about those chocolate induced cravings -- insatiable!), so I popped up from the table and went to work gathering supplies.

I had planed to make Puppy Chow, but I didn't have any chocolate chips ... what is a girl to do ... how did we run out of chocolate chips ... chocolate chip waffles, that is how.  Hmmm .... I have Nutella ... I don't have any rice cereal only an unopened box of Chocolate Cheerios (that have been in the pantry 4EVER) and an unopened box of Cinnamon Chex Cereal.  Hmmm ... a recipe was born.

Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup Nutella
1 stick butter
2 cups powdered (confectioners') sugar
1/2 Box of Chocolate Cherios Chereal
1/2 Box of Cinnamon Chex Cereal

Directions
1. Pour 1/2 box of each cereal into a very large mixing bowl.
2.  In a saucepan over low heat, melt together butter, peanut butter and Nutella.  Stir until smooth.
3.  Pour melted mixture over cereal and stir to coat.
4.  Sprinkle powdered (confectioners') sugar over the mix and continue to stir while the sugar coats each piece.
5.  Pour mixture out onto countertop covered with wax paper (or without the paper with intense clean-up in mind).
6.  Allow to air dry and clump together, then store it in something airtight.

Results:  Better than the original!
