Deer, Elk, Wild Turkey and a Red Fox

Deer, Elk, Wild Turkey and a Red Fox.  Not it is not the beginning of a Dr. Seuss book (although I've often thought I should give that a try ...), rather it is a recap of the trip to drop the kids off at school today.

Deer in the yard and along the first part of the drive, then three bull elk practicing their battling skills (frightening and exciting all at once) along the roadside, only to next be stopped on the road by the pair of wild turkey that for some reason consider each car that passes to be an intruder that should be pecked, then around the last corner to see the red fox cross the street and disappear up the mountain.

The diversity and beauty of the mountains amazes me every day.
