Friday Night Traditions
Around our house we are big on traditions. We don't always intend to create new traditions, but we do the same thing week after week after week and it turns into a tradition. Before I realized it Friday night pizza and a movie turned into a tradition (and the kids really kind of demand pizza and a movie now).
It started from the simple ease of getting dinner together after lacrosse practice on Friday night and wrapping it up with family time. It's more than just pizza and a movie though. It is the one night a week that I allow the kids to watch TV while eating dinner. Almost every other night we are at the dinner table (TV off) having dinner and talking (yep, we really still do that - weird - I know). Sports practice does interrupt our lives more than just a bit, but I try to keep our lives as normal as possible even through sports season.
